Geoje Bamboo Forest

Geoje Bamboo Forest

Geoje Island is heaven for nature lovers. Apart from the beautiful hiking trails and scenic beaches, the island offers a family-friendly Bamboo Theme Park. Located in Hachung Myun, the bamboo grove stretches out to about 90,000 square meters, covered with lush greenery. There is a certain stillness to the bamboo grove making it an excellent spot to relax and unwind.

A leisurely stroll around the park takes around 45 minutes, and there are a couple of kid-safe ziplines and rope courses to keep children entertained. The rope course is well equipped with basic, intermediate, and advanced levels for all ages. For the adventurous, the park offers a survival game, complete with toy guns and arrows, allowing for a childhood experience all over again.

The park is also lined with foot massage zones and exercise equipment for those out on a leisurely stroll. Either way, the crisp air and the soothing sound of wind whistling through the bamboo will relieve your body and mind of built-up stress.

Bamboo has played a big role in Korean culture. Before the advent of modern comforts, Koreans turned to natural resources, like bamboo, to satisfy their daily needs. Bamboo proved to be a versatile material and was used for mats, cooling hard pillows, fans, fancy jewelry, and much more. The park has a small souvenir shop offering a variety of bamboo products.

With so many health benefits and a high entertainment value, the Bamboo Theme Park is an ideal getaway to rediscover nature at its best. Located at 880 Siljun-ri Hachung Myun, the park is open throughout the year from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Gear up and get lost in nature!
