For those who’ve long stopped believing in Santa Claus and his reindeer, Herb Island’s Fairy Lights Festival will prove that Christmas magic is alive and well. Every year at Herb Island’s Santa Village, the 1512 m2 Forest Garden is completely blanketed with a multitude of colorful Christmas lights and displays resulting in a beautiful winter wonderland.
Herb Island, located in Pocheon, is a whimsical tourist attraction that features a variety of Mediterranean herbs. Once inside, visitors will encounter botanical gardens, a museum, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, gift shops, spas, and crafts centers. Their many craft programs teach you to make herb candles, bath salts, balms, and more, presenting an ideal opportunity for those looking to gift memorable, handmade presents.
More importantly, once a year, in honor of the holiday season, Herb Island suits up for Christmas! Even parts of the ground are covered in a net of Christmas lights accentuating the rises and falls of the natural land and creating a truly magical feel. Adding to the holiday cheer are a variety of displays including a manger scene, light up snowmen, colorful gift-wrapped boxes, and giant hanging Christmas ornaments.
If you can’t get enough of the Christmas spirit, Herb Island’s Santa Village packs enough to make you feel like you’re in a whole other world.
