Seoul’s Universal Ballet Presents The Nut Cracker

Seoul’s Universal Ballet will enchant audiences this December with Tchaikovsky’s classic holiday performance, The Nutcracker. Based on the original Mariinksy Theatre version created by Vasily Vainonen in St Petersburg in 1934, the fairy like world will come to life in Seoul with beautifully crafted sets and costumes. Universal Ballet is famous for performing the world’s favorite full-length classical ballets in Korea and abroad, and their rendition of The Nutcracker is a much-loved annual tradition.

The story follows the little protagonist, Clara, who awakens in the night on Christmas Eve to find herself caught in the midst of a battle waged by her beloved Nutcracker doll against the odious Mouse King and his minions who have come to life. After helping the nutcracker defeat the Mouse King, Clara and The Nutcracker are magically transformed into a prince and princess, and embark on an adventure to the Land of Sweets, where the Festival of Toys begins.

The Universal Ballet’s rendition of this popular Christmas classic is a magical adventure for everyone to enjoy, and the perfect evening out for the whole family this festive season.
