Cakeshop | Yongsan-gu, Seoul

Cakeshop has been one of the trendiest clubs in Seoul for the past couple years, it has made its way to winning the 10 Magazine’s 2018 Best Club in Seoul.  The place is also a hotspot for famous international artists to stop by when they’re in town.  It’s the perfect place for both foreigners and locals alike, as their lineup of both local and international DJs is top-tier. Previous headliners have included Nosaj Thing, Étienne de Crécy, and Shlomo. With a small venue and low ceilings, Cakeshop has a different vibe from most of the other clubs around Seoul. Brand Nu | Mapo-gu, Seoul

Located in one the hippest locations in Seoul, Hongdae, Brand Nu is one of the best hip-hop clubs in town. Though it can get a little crowded on weekends, Brand Nu is a great source of hip-hop for both foreigners and locals alike as it always hosts a great lineup of DJs every week. With special events and appearances weekend after weekend, Lucidream has a laid-back, chill vibe with hip-hop and R&B mashups you can dance to all night. Located in the trendy area of Hongdae behind a secret door made to look like a Coca-Cola vending machine, Secret Society is owned by Vasco, a key player in the underground hip-hop scene in Korea. Madholic | Mapo-gu, Seoul

Madholic is a popular club known for its quality hip-hop and R&B music. With an impressive lineup of DJs every weekend, Madholic and is one of the best known clubs in Hongdae. Be warned, the venue can get extremely crowded. But if it does, try stopping by the second branch right next door. The Henz club is the place to be if you want to be surrounded by lit people and lit music all night long. Located in Hongdae, the Henz Club promises some of the best underground hip-hop music in town. With a Funktion One sound system that guarantees the quality music, and the hottest DJs spinning all night long including artists such as 360sounds, Deadend, Back & Forth, and Dipcoin, the Henz club is the place to go for a great night out. Compton | Yongsan-gu, Seoul

Compton is a popular club in Itaewon that plays great underground hip-hop music. Artists like Killagramz, Sanches, and YunB have played here along with famous rappers like Los, Nada, and Jeon Ji-Yoon. Although the venue can get cramped, as it is always filled to the max on weekends, Brown never disappoints the crowd with its music choices. Entrance fees start at KRW 15,000 and ladies get in free on the weekends before 12. Club Cream | Mapo-gu, Seoul

Club Cream is a well-known hip-hop club that always boasts long lines of people outside the front doors because of they don’t charge an entrance fee. What makes this club so unique is its “Everyone’s Mic Night,” which allows upcoming underground hip-hop artists to perform and get themselves known.

Not only does Club Cream play the newest, hottest music, but it also plays some of the best hip-hop music in town. Boombar | Yongsan-gu, Seoul

A classic place to stop by if you’re in the Itaewon area is Boombar, an urban style club and lounge that plays all kinds of hip-hop. You can’t go wrong with this place. Boombar is known for its old school hip-hop, house, and EDM music and remains a popular club because of its convenient location, great music, and chic and modern interior.
