Chois' Tacos

It was in a back alley of Koreatown, Los Angeles that Thomas Choi first experienced Mexican food. On a business trip, he happened upon a cart selling something that was finally as spicy as the food back home. After returning to America multiple times, Choi befriended the owner of the taco cart, who slowly taught him how to be a chef. In the financial crisis of the late 90’s, businessman Choi went bankrupt, and like so many others, didn’t know what to do next. He said when he got the idea, “It was like thunder. Taco! Taco! Taco!” What started as a cart on the streets of Bundang blossomed into one of Seoul’s best taco joints. Since its inception, Choi has travelled to Mexico to further study his craft, and has turned his hobby into a business about which he is passionate. The food is made with quality cheeses and fresh vegetables, and the atmosphere is lively and friendly. The restaurant holds a biannual Burrito Eating Contest with prizes, and the walls are covered with customer testimonials from over twenty countries. The most popular items on the menu are the beef burrito and the beef quesadilla, both of which come on flour tortillas, grilled to perfection. For more information, please visit choistacos.com.
