Club Arena Gangnam Seoul: High-energy Standard South of the River
Few clubs in Korea can rival Club Arena’s unique mix of energy and pageantry. Known for its high-end dance parties, which often run beyond the wee-hours and well into the big, late-morning hours, Arena epitomizes the expression, “dance the night away.” The club opened its doors in 2014, in a spacious basement that can accommodate 700 people. Known as a locals club, Club Arena usually fills quickly with KTV stars and local sports celebrities. It is also known for its strange but captivating blend of trendiness and grittiness. At Club Arena Gangnam Seoul, you can find some of the most well-heeled urbanites in the city grooving to mesmering house beats on a well-worn but spacious dance floor.
Music & Atmosphere: The House of House in Gangnam-gu
Club Arena rocks mostly EDM, hip hop, progressive house, electro house, and techno house, but like all clubs they will change it a bit every now and then. But be prepared to dance, because that’s what they like to do there. The club has two main floors with elevated stages: basement 1 for hip hop, and basement 2 for high-energy EDM, with a larger stage. VIP Booths line the main stage for an exclusive though pricey club experience. Many Korean clubs have a strict dress code, but Club Arena has a reputation as one of the strictest. If you want to get in, leave the flip flops and shorts at home.
Location
Club Arena is located in the heart of Nonhyeon-dong, not too far from Garosugil. Get off at Sinsa Station (subway line 3), and go out exit 3. Walk straight for a block and a half, and you’ll find Arena on your left. A Korea Exchange Bank (KEB) is directly across the big main road.
