Chungcheong Editor’s Pick: Korea Craft Brewery Tour

With the craft beer industry on the rise, the Japanese craft beer company Kiuchi has made a move to enter the Korean market with their Hitachino line of beers. A new brewery located in Eumseong-gun, North Chungcheong Province was created in conjunction with a Korean partner and has been named the “Korea Craft Brewery.” Despite opening a few months ago, the brewery offers a full tour of their facilities to those who might be interested. The tour can be arranged with reservations via phone or email and comes in three varieties.
The “Standard Tour” costs W10,000 won and includes a 20-minute tour, one free glass of beer from their tap room, and a free copy of CRAFT magazine.
The “Private Tour” costs W20,000 and includes a 30-minute tour with head brewmaster Mark Hamon, one free tasting of tank beer at the fermentation room, one free glass of beer from their tap room, and a free copy of CRAFT magazine.
The final option is for a membership which will cost W400,000 won. This membership package includes unlimited free “Standard Tours,” one free tasting of tank beer at the fermentation room, free unlimited available draft beer in the tap room, four free CRAFT magazines for a year, one free “Private Tour” with a friend, and a 10% discount plus 50,000 points towards purchases in their store.
