Korea International School Jeju Campus | Jeju Island

Korea International School (KIS) Jeju Campus is the first international boarding school to have opened in South Korea. As the sister school to the main KIS campus in Seoul, KIS Jeju Campus was founded in 2010 and first opened its doors to students in 2011. The faculty at KIS Jeju Campus are committed to providing to its students a challenging American style education curriculum.

As a global leader in education, KIS Jeju Campus aims to prepare students for learning in university and promotes the growth of students to become responsible contributors to society. KIS Jeju is currently recognized by the College Board for its AP program and capstone program, the Western Association of Colleges and Schools, and the South Korean Ministry of Education.  KIS Jeju also carries affiliations and membership with the East Asia Regional Council of Schools, the World Leading Schools Association, the Korean-American Interscholastic Activities Conference, Association of International Schools in Asia.

Branksome Hall Asia | Jeju Island

Branksome Hall Asia (BHA) stands as South Korea’s only international girls’ school and girls’ boarding school. BHA was founded in 2012 and is the sister school to Branksome Hall Canada, an independent girls’ school located in Toronto. BHA is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School that offers its IB program to students in grades from JK Prep-12. BHA is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools, the Western Association for Schools and Colleges, and was awarded the International School Award for supporting students as future thinking innovators.

BHA also works in partnership with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award to celebrate young people’s achievements outside of their academic duties. The school focuses on the empowerment of girls in their transition from grade school to being young, powerful leaders in the world. Although BHA is known for being an international girls’ school, the academic institution also accepts boys from JK Prep-3rd grade. BHA then supports their transition to other middle schools at the end of 5th grade. Boarding school for girls is only available at BHA for students in grades 6-12. Day students are welcome at the school from grades JK Prep-12.

North London Collegiate School | Jeju Island

North London Collegiate School (NLCS) Jeju is the sister school to NLCS UK, founded in England in 1850. NLCS Jeju carries with it the prestigious British education curriculum that the school has upheld for generations. NLCS is an IB World School and is also accredited by the Council of International Schools. The school also carries affiliation and membership with the Boarding Schools Association, the Federation of British International Schools in Asia, and is in partnership with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.  NLCS Jeju offers day school and boarding school within the heart of the Jeju Global Education City.

Learning Objectives at NLCS Jeju revolve around six principles related to NLCS student outcomes: academic excellence, broad experiences, global citizenship, school values, future success, and character. These six values are emphasized in a student’s day to day learning environment and are at the heart of student growth at NLCS Jeju. Students aged 4-18 are invited to apply to NLCS Jeju; boarding is available for students from year 3 to year 13. Following British boarding school style, students in the boarding system are divided into different “houses” where they will also be encouraged to become a part of a community and participate in house competitions.

St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju | Jeju Island

Curriculum at St. Johnsbury Academy (SJA) Jeju follows an Inquiry/Project Based Learning model for a dynamic and prestigious American educational experience. SJA Jeju is a member of the College Board and was approved as a “Candidate for Accreditation” by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges in 2019. SJA Jeju is unique in that it offers a special capstone intensive program in the last year of each level of schooling in grades 5, 8, and 12.

The capstone intensive program gives SJA Jeju students the chance to research and present projects personal to them and helps students find what they are truly passionate about. SJA Jeju is a sister school to St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont, USA, founded in 1842. SJA Jeju is the newest of the Jeju Global Education City international boarding schools, but is making waves with its unique approach to education and student learning development.

The SJA Jeju academic program is built upon three promises made to the school’s students and their families. The promises SJA Jeju makes are: we will do all we can to help each student be the best learner possible, person possible, and be a part of something bigger than him/herself.

Cheongna Dalton School | Seo-gu, Incheon

Cheongna Dalton School (CDS) opened its co-ed international boarding and day school to students K-12 in 2011 between the city hubs of Incheon and Seoul. CDS’s sprawling private campus provides ample room for the school’s three different academic buildings, facilities, dormitory, and wide variety of extra-curricular activities and club offerings. CDS is a highly accredited international school with it being recognized by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education, College Board, and the Korean Council of Overseas Schools.

CDS is the only international school certified for Korean academic accreditation by the Korean government. CDS also follows an American style school curriculum that prepares students who wish to go to a western university for higher education. CDS’s ultimate goal is to develop its students into global citizens ready to use their education and skills to engage with a diverse and changing world.

Taejon Christian International School | Yuseong-gu, Daejon

Founded in 1958, Taejon Christian International School (TCIS) offers day classes and a boarding school program for students. TCIS was the first school in South Korea to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs for students such as PYP, MD, and DP. TCIS is fully-accredited as an IB World School and by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The school is also officially recognized as a Foreign School in Korea by the Korean Ministry of Education, the College Board, and is a member of the Association of Christian International Schools.

TCIS also holds affiliation and membership with the Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development, East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools, National Association for College Admission Counseling, and the International Association for College Admission Counseling. As a school founded upon religion, TCIS educates its students according to a Christian worldview. This does not mean however, that TCIS students must be Christian or religious to attend TCIS. Students from diverse faith backgrounds attend and are also invited to attend TCIS. Students with no religious background or those who do not identify with any religion are also welcome to join the TCIS community.

The boarding program at TCIS has been in place for more than 60 years, giving the school and its faculty ample experience in providing the best living and learning environment for students. The TCIS boarding program promotes a family-like atmosphere for students and is available for students in grades 6-12.
