Bistro Le Mere is Permanently Closed

Hidden in a basement that may not stand out to many is Bistro Le Mere, serving clean eats with a classy, modern twist. As the “Save Water, Drink Wine” neon sign in the restaurant suggests, the crème-de-la-crème of Bistro Le Mere is its impressive, but non-intimidating wine list. Coming from a sommelier background, the owner of this quirky little bistro is a major wine enthusiast. Don’t hesitate to ask for suggestions; the owner is helpful, kind, and more than happy to share his knowledge of wine. We suggest trying out one of the organic wines on Bistro Le Mere’s list.

Seoul Cigar Bar with Fine Cuban Cigars

When Seoul cigar bar Burn in Hal opened four years ago, with a top-notch selection of cigars and single malt scotches, it was the only high end bar on the street. Now, a slew of business owners have followed suit, cementing the area as a prime nightlife location. However, this hasn’t made Burn any less unique. Step into Burn, and you’ll notice the fragrant aroma of fine Cuban cigars that you won’t find in any other similar establishment in Korea. The cigars here, displayed behind glass on elegant wooden shelves, come at superbly reasonable prices. You can choose to bring your own cigar as well, as long as you pay a W10,000 cutting fee. Burn also boasts a selection of over 85 single malt scotches, rare aged rums, and nightly jazz performances — all in a warm, contemporary Edwardian atmosphere that’ll transport you out of the immediate area. Fine cuban cigars, premium spirits, live jazz, a striking atmosphere, and reasonable prices? There’s no other place you can find them all.
