Cafe Smeltz is a popular cafe among Korean instagrammers and bloggers located on the outskirts of Seoul. This minimally themed, stand alone cafe is known for its great mood and large floating glass windows, allowing for a great view of the landscape surrounding the cafe. This cafe truly feels like a small gem away from the hustle and bustle of Seoul and is a good place to spend a day relaxing.
Inside Cafe Smeltz
Cafe Smeltz offers its visitors a large first floor, second floor, and outdoor terrace seating area. The first floor is where you can order your drinks and/or food from the large baristas’ counter. One end of this floor has many tables for customers to sit at or you can choose to sit at the opposite end that has a wrap around bench seating area similar to a small amphitheater. This floor also offers a great view outside of the cafe, but if you want to see the view that the cafe is famous for you will have to go to the second floor.
On the second floor you will be greeted by another large seating area and you will see the giant glass window panels the cafe is famous for. If you’re lucky enough to grab a seat right next to the windows, be ready to take some great pictures and be the envy of the other cafe goers. Because of Cafe Smeltz’s location in Gyeonggi-do, it is able to offer visitors unmatched views of the foliage on the hills surrounding the cafe.
A view this perfect year round definitely can’t be found in the city. Staring outside the huge glass windows almost feels like you’re watching a nature show in full HD viewing. You could pass hours in a comfortable seat, wrapped up in a cozy book, and enjoying the beautiful scenery outside of this cafe.
If you need some fresh air or are looking for a place to relax right in the middle of nature, try taking a seat at Cafe Smeltz’s balcony seating area also located on the second floor. This area might be closed in the colder months of the year but is nice to try in the spring or summer.
The great thing about Cafe Smeltz is its extensive menu of coffee, food, desserts, and even alcoholic beverages. If you wanted to, you could spend the whole day at Smeltz while enjoying the coffee and cafe food for lunch and dinner. The prices of the food and drinks aren’t the cheapest, but for a break from the noise of the city and a great view no matter the season, Cafe Smeltz is worth a visit to. To see something beyond the average greenery, we recommend you to visit in the fall or winter to see the fall foliage the cafe is known for or a blanket of snow outside the windows.
