Ssal Sanghoe

If you are a frequent visitor or very exposed to the Korean culture, you might have seen, heard, or tried Hotteok. Ssal Sanghoe, here, is a shop specifically for the Long Hotteok (길쭉이호떡). This hotteok served in a paper cup, is made of a 90% domestically grown rice which made them especially chewier. The slight difficulty to this is that Ssal Sanghoe is a bit food-truck-like, they do not have seats in their restaurant so you can only order take away. But that’s not a problem because hotteoks are very small, to begin with!

Hotteok

They have different types of Hotteok to offer like:

• traditional flavored Hotteok
• Red bean paste Hotteok
• Meat Hotteok
• Pizza Hotteok
• Japchae Hotteok

You can even order hotteoks in a pack and fry them at home later.  In a pack, there is 10 hotteoks and it cost around 18,000 Krw.

How to get there

To get to Ikseon-dong is to get off at Jongno 3 ga station and the closest exit would be 4 & 6.
