Speakeasy Mortar – a very secretive bar in Hannam-dong
How secretive is Speakeasy Mortar you ask? We took about 30 minutes just to find a photo of the shop, and it’s one from after closing time where they have drying towels everywhere. No wifi, no cell signal, no pictures allowed. They focus on quality time and quality cocktails.

You’ll then step inside to one of Seoul’s most authentic speakeasy bars which has a selection of over 300 whiskies and little to no wifi signal. (It’s intentional as photo-taking is also prohibited.) So sip your scotch, enjoy the ambiance of this bygone era and chat with the friendly bartenders who are well-versed on all things cocktails.

From Itaewon or Hangangjin Station, take bus 110B and get off at Hannam-dong Bus Stop. Speakeasy Mortar is across the street behind the church.
