Owned in part by Big Bang member Seungri, Monkey Museum is a lounge club at the heart of the posh neighborhood of Cheongnam-dong. The club opened in the summer of 2016, and is the predecessor of newly launched sister club, Burning Sun. Described as a lounge bar, Monkey Museum Club Gangnam-gu is a bit of a break from hurry and scurry of the posh surroundings. There’s no dress code (but as usual, be sensible) which gives the place a more relaxed feel. However the upscale neighborhood tends to produce more of a young professional clientele, replete with artists and models. Be prepared, as there will be very few backpackers or students.
Music & Atmosphere: A Relaxed vibe in the heart of Cheongdam-dong
Like most successful night clubs in Seoul, Monkey Museum provides a healthy mix of genres, including everything from hip hop and R & B to house, techno, EDM, and future sounds. What separates Monkey Museum from other clubs is their dedication to quality. They’ve featured such internationally renowned acts as Shaun, Unity, Kingmck, and Al Rocco, providing club goers with a top-notch music and night club experience. They’ve also fashioned an intimate interior, mostly of tables and booths, making it more conducive to group-clubbing. There is modest bar space though, so feel free to fly solo.
