SIWA and Diplomatic Community Bazaar: The Largest International Fundraising Event in Seoul

SIWA and Diplomatic Community Bazaar

The 59th SIWA and Diplomatic Community Bazaar

The 59th SIWA and Diplomatic Community Bazaar will be hosted online for the second time this year, for a convenient and safe shopping experience, from 8th to 21st November, 2021 (8 AM to 11 PM). Organized annually since the foundation of SIWA in 1962, the SIWA and Community Bazaar is the largest international fundraising event in Seoul raising more than KRW 3 billion since its inception. The SIWA Bazaar gives a good opportunity to find and purchase unique products, health and beauty supplies, clothes and accessories, foods, alcohol and crafts from all over the world that might be difficult to find in Korea at affordable prices.

With support from numerous clubs, business sponsors, welfare organizations, and diplomatic missions, including representatives from embassies who joined together to showcase a diverse range of products and food the previous years, the bazaar raised approximately KRW 36 million which was sent to Korean charities. In 2020, all proceeds were donated to Holy Family Welfare Hospital, which is supported by ASAS (Ambassadors’ Spouses Association of Seoul), and KUMFA (Korean Unwed Mothers’ Families Association), as a part of SIWA’s 3-year Philanthropy Project. This year, as well, all proceeds will be donated to local Korean charities.

“All of the proceeds from the Bazaar go to Korean charities that are carefully selected, evaluated and monitored by the SIWA Welfare Committee. We feel tremendous gratitude for the continuous and generous support of our participants in the Bazaar, which allows us to keep on providing the funding needed by these charities.” says Veronica Koon, SIWA President.
