In what could be a potentially dangerous (and likely a racially insensitive) move, Seth Rogen has teamed up with James Franco to produce a comedy revolving around a plan to assassinate Kim Jong-un. In “The Interview,” set to be released this fall in the U.S., Dave Skylark, played by James Franco, is a host on a celebrity television called “Skylark Tonight.” When Skylark and his producer Aaron Rapoport, played by Seth Rogen, discover that the notorious Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they set on a journey to interview the dictator by disguising themselves as journalists. Their plans for an interview are thwarted when the CIA gets involved and plan to assassinate Kim Jong-un with the help of the two protagonists. If Seth Rogen’s past films are any indication, prepare for an onslaught of punchlines from the film to be repeatedly rehashed by frat boys worldwide.
