SIWA

Ongoing

If you’re new to Seoul or looking to get involved with your local community this year, why not consider Seoul International Women’s Association (SIWA)? SIWA is the largest and longest-running international women’s organization in Korea and is comprised of more than 400 women from over 40 different nations around the world — including South Korea. The organization holds weekly and monthly tours, group activities, coffee mornings and enrichment classes. They also offer members a chance to contribute their skills, or develop new ones, to help run the organization and fundraising events.

This January, SIWA have a packed out scheduled of activities, meet-ups and opportunities for new members to get involved. Kick off the year by attending SIWA’s Newcomers Meeting at the Itaewon Global Village on January 15. Likewise, expressions of interest are currently open online for volunteers to help plan the annual Charity Gala to be held in April. Or, head along to a transition group lunch on January 21 at Serafina New York Restaurant in Hapjeong to discuss adaptive strategies to better navigate life’s changes. Those looking to give back in 2016 have the opportunity to learn more about The Welfare Committee that helps oversee SIWA’s work with local charity organizations that help support vulnerable communities in Korea.
