Celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year, the Paju Jangdan Soybean Festival is a place where the historic value of South Korea’s first certified soybean strand, the Jangdanbaekmok, is made evident along with that of Jangdansambaek (rice, soybean, and ginseng), a precious tribute to the king. In addition, a wide range of culture and art performances that everyone can enjoy is available, such as making small meju (a small brick made of soybeans), grinding with a millstone, and sifting soybeans, in addition to a traditional Korean game zone, bubble shows, magic shows and traditional tightrope walking. Bring your kids or your friends and plan a picnic in Paju at the festival!
