St. Patrick’s Day Festival Seoul 2019

For St. Patrick’s Day, the Irish Association of Korea offers to share Ireland’s rich culture and Celtic history with the people living in Korea. St. Patrick’s Day Festival Seoul will be celebrated on March 16th from 1pm to 6pm, at Daesung D-Cube City plaza, Sindorim, Seoul. This year’s central theme is “An Irish welcome”. This day will be celebrated through a feast of Irish dancing, Irish traditional music, and audience participation. At this free open-air festival, you will enjoy many talented musical and dance acts the festival has lined up. You can watch a fusion of traditional and modern Irish dance, while also listening to the sounds of old style Irish singing and Irish influenced rock music. Remember to wear green as it is the national and the St. Patrick’s Day color.

Family and cultural activities

There will be plenty of family orientated and fun cultural activities ready to be enjoyed at the St. Patrick’s Day Festival Seoul, like face painting with traditional Irish symbols and demonstrations of Irish sport by Seoul’s very own GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) team. You can also learn to play an Irish musical instrument. For children or the young at heart, you can participate in our fancy dress competition based on our “Irish Welcome” theme. The best-dressed men or women will be in with a chance to win a great prize, as will the best-dressed child. You will also have the chance to win a round trip flight ticket for two to Ireland, thanks to the festival’s sponsor Etihad Airways.

The Hooley After Party

The festivities will continue with St. Patrick’s Day After Party, called “THE HOOLEY”, that will propose a mix of live traditional and modern music. The after party will start from 6:30pm until 1am in the famed live music venues “CLUB FF” and “GOGO’S 1” in Hongdae. The admission fee is 10,000 won and you can access both events. Tickets will be on sale at the festival or at the door of Club FF’s on the day of the festival. You can check Club FF’s location on our Directory listing, and you will find Club Gogo just upstairs from Club FF. All proceeds from the raffle and Hooley’s ticket sales go into running Irish music and cultural events, and support positive mental health and wellbeing events.
