Lights Festival at The Garden of Morning Calm

Held at the Garden of Morning Calm, the Lighting Festival is the biggest festival of lights in Korea, covering 100 thousand pyeong illuminated by 30,000 lights. The gleaming lights add a festive glow to the garden during the winter season. The main gardens are Hakyung Garden, Hometown House Garden, Bonsai Garden, Moonlight Garden, Sky Path and Garden of Eden, with colorful lights adorning the trees. In the event of inclement weather, lights may be turned off for safety.

The Garden of Morning Calm established the idea of a beautiful, world-class garden. The garden’s goal is to try an embrace the natural beauty of Korea, oriental mystique, and the spirit of the Korean People in the garden. The design of the garden focused on curves, spaces, and asymmetric balance, and Korea’s unique beauty to express classic elegance and fabulousness.

How to Get There

To get to Lights Festival at The Garden of Morning Calm, take the Gyeonchun Line to Cheongpyeong Station (Stop P132), Exit 1. Go left to the 3-way intersection and turn right. Continue straight toward the Cheongpyeong Catholic Church, passing by Cheongpyeong Elementary School. As you turn left, you will see the Cheonpyeong Bus Terminal. From the terminal, take a bus bound for The Garden of Morning Calm (아침고요수목원).
