Choi Sukun Solo Exhibition, “Odd Nature, Strange comfort” (낮선 자연 낮선 위로), is currently hosted by Gallery NOW in Gangnam.
Choi Sukun is a well-respected contemporary artist who has been active not only in Korea, but also in Japan and China, through both solo and group exhibitions.
“Odd Nature, Strange comfort” is an exhibition for all those whose lives and ways of thinking have been changed drastically by the pandemic. The painter Choi Sukun, like all of us, was affected by the coronavirus situation, so he spent the past year on a small island in Haenam, Jeollanam-do, surrounded by nature. The pure energy of simple things that he never paid attention to before, such as scallions in the field or trees, became a comfort and an inspiration to him, making the artist appreciate the preciousness of existence itself.
This Choi Sukun Solo Exhibition is filled with artworks containing the feelings and appreciation felt throughout the experience of last year, which aim to offer you comfort in these difficult times, just like nature offered comfort to the painter.
