Founded in 1949, Kyung Hee University seeks to pursue the Spirit of “Scholarship and Peace” as well as the founding principle of “creating a civilized world”. International students who want to attend Kyung Hee University must have the proper visa to stay in Korea for more than 90 days. The admission process begins with an online application and includes a Korean language test and an interview. Students who are exempt from the Korean language test are applicants for the English track, potential freshmen who have achieved TOPIK Level 3 or above or have completed level 4 from the IIE/ILE program, and transfer students who have achieved TOPIK Level 4 or above.

Kyung Hee-University has admission scholarships A-G for freshman or transfer students.
Kyung Hee offers two post-enrollment scholarships. The Academic Encouragement Scholarship is awarded to select honor student applicants with a 3.0 GPA from the semester before. These students are awarded a graded payment. The TOPIK Encouragement Scholarship is awarded to students who earn TOPIK Level 5 or 6 while enrolled at the university. These students receive 300,000 KRW per time with a maximum of two times.
Scholarship offers are announced with acceptances per the university’s scholarship policy. If selected for more than one scholarship, the student will be awarded the scholarship with the higher value.
Kyung Hee University has three campuses in Korea. The university’s Seoul campus in Dongdaemun, a Global campus in Yongin-si and a Gwangneung campus in Namyangju-si.
The Seoul Campus has the Sewha-won dormitory that is on campus and I-House I which is off-campus. Both dormitory options have double rooms and only the off-campus option has cooking facilities. The Global campus has the Woojungwon dormitory which is on campus and has a joint cooking facility.
The university also has a global collaborative summer program. In 2005, Kyung Hee University and the University of Pennsylvania joined forces to set up the Penn-Kyung Hee Collaborative. The aim of this collaborative is to establish a new education model for universities that integrates education, research, and practice. The theme for the collaborative is “Humanity, Civilization, and Human Governance” which the summer program delves into. The program lasts about a month.
Kyung Hee University’s notable alumni include KPOP star Rain, KPOP star G-Dragon, actor Gong Yoo, Super Junior singer Kyuhyun, actress Han Ga-in, etc.
THE World University Rankings placed Kyung Hee University at 321st place and 5th among Korean universities in 2019. According to Higher Education in Korea, Kyung Hee University ranks number one in scholarship programs in Korea.
