Rolling Korea Language School was founded in 2012 to teach Korean to foreigners. Since then, they’ve developed unique educational content and activities to provide the best experience for their students. Their program ensures an equal focus on learning Korean and experiencing Korean culture so that their students can make the most of their time in Korea.

Rolling Korea Curriculum

Rolling Korea’s curriculum weighs heavily on the practical Korean learning experience. They believe that learning a language from a textbook isn’t enough and that the fastest way to master a language is to get a lot of practice with proper feedback. This is why they offer afternoon social programs and activities to provide the perfect opportunities to learn Korean in a friendly environment. They offer 9 different classes: regular classes, two types of intensive classes, private lessons, evening speaking courses, evening TOPIK courses, weekend courses, Korean and KPOP courses, and an all-inclusive program. 

Regular Korean Course

This is their signature course that builds a strong foundation for beginners and helps develop student competence in the language for intermediate and advanced levels. It is speaking oriented but covers every aspect of the Korean language including listening, reading, and writing. They also have social programs in the afternoons to provide a good mix of classroom learning and practice. 

This class is around 4 days a week from 10am-12:50pm. The class size is 3-8 people. They have levels from beginner to advanced, and they use the Sogang Korean textbook and handouts. 

Intensive Korean Course 1

Suitable for all levels, this course is ideal for students who want to learn a wider range of expressions and vocabularies to enhance their understanding of the language further. The extra practice hours will help boost your confidence in learning Korean. This class is around 4 days a week from 9am-12:50pm. The class size is 3-8 people. They have levels from beginner to advanced, and they use the Sogang Korean textbook and handouts. 

Intensive Korean Course 2

This class is designed to provide extra lesson hours on Wednesdays for those students who want to improve their speaking skills. This course is for students who want to attend classes 5 times a week for a more in-depth and thorough learning experience and want to maximize their learning experience. 

This class is 5 times a week from 9am-12:50am. The class size is around 3-8 people, maximum of 15, they have levels from beginner to advanced, and they use the Sogang Korean textbook and handouts. 

Private Course

This is for students who want to learn Korean, K-POP dance, or K-POP vocals according to their own schedule. You can choose when and what to learn. For the private Korean course, you will first take a Korean level test, then take speaking-focused, comprehensive Korean language classes that incorporate listening, reading, and writing. You can choose a specific topic to learn as experienced and knowledgeable tutors guide you to be fluent. 

For the private KPOP courses, you can choose the songs that you want to learn the choreography and lyrics to. They have a classroom with a side wall covered with mirrors, which is perfect for practicing. Experienced professional vocal instructors and dancers teach you step by step. 

Everything from course length to meeting times are flexible, but there is a minimum of 2 hours per session.

Evening Speaking Course

This is a monthly class for those who want to learn Korean after school or work. You can learn speaking-focused Korean expressions ranging from everyday Korean to elegant Korea. They aim for a compact class size to make sure every student has enough feedback time from professional instructors and feel comfortable before moving on to the next chapter. 

This class is 4 weeks long with 2 sessions a week from 7-8:50pm. The classes are 3-8 people with a maximum of 15 people. They have levels from beginner to advanced and they use speaking materials and handouts. 

Evening TOPIK Course

TOPIK, an official Korean language proficiency test for foreigners. It is used for Korean university admission, getting a job in Korea, medical practice, Korean language teaching qualification test, to become a Korean citizen, and for a marriage visa. They have helped dozens of students enroll in universities successfully. This is a monthly course for those who want to pass TOPIK quickly. 

This class is 4 weeks long with 2 sessions a week from 7-8:50pm. The classes are 3-8 people with a maximum of 15 people. They have levels from beginner to advanced and they use TOPIK materials and handouts. 

Weekend Korean Course

This class is a speaking-focused month-long course perfect for those who don’t have time on weekdays to learn Korean. You can learn Korean expressions from everyday use to fancy occasions. They aim for a compact class size to make sure every student could have enough feedback time from professional instructors and feel comfortable before moving onto the next chapter. 

This class is 4 weeks long with 2 sessions a week from 7-8:50pm. The classes are 3-8 people with a maximum of 15 people. They have levels from beginner to advanced and they use speaking materials and handouts. 

Korean and KPOP Course

If you became interested in Korean language through KPOP, then this Korean and KPOP course could be perfect for you. This course includes a regular Korean course in the mornings and 1 KPOP dance and 1 vocal lesson each week in the afternoons. With professional and experienced vocal and dance instructors guiding you step by step, you can learn Korean and how to sing and dance. 

This class meets four days a week. There are 16 hours of Korean a week, with 2 hours a week for both vocal and dance. The classes are 3-8 people with a maximum of 15 people. There are beginner to advanced levels and they use the Sogang Korean textbook and handouts. 

All-Inclusive Program

This all-inclusive program is for students who want to learn Korean but don’t know what to do about accommodations. With this package, you can take either regular Korean, intensive Korea 1 or 2, or Korean and KPOP. Rolling Korea will help you sort out accommodation and provide free airport pickup as well. 

Rolling Korea Admission Procedure

You can register for a class by visiting their website and filling out the application form. They will reply with the result via email within 1-2 days of applying. You can also visit their location in person to apply. You will need to pay the tuition fee after confirming and checking the fee, which can be done through wire transfer, online banking, or paying in person. After you make your payment, they will send you a confirmation email. On your first day, you will have an orientation and a 1:1 level test, after which you will start your classes! They do not provide visas for admission.

Accommodation

Rolling Korea has many accommodations. They have two share houses directly managed by Rolling Korea. THe first one is 20 minutes away from the school and the second one is 7 minutes away. There is also an accommodation called “gositels,” which are unique Korean residential facilities with small but cheap rooms equipped with a bed, desk, drawers, shower, and refrigerator. Rice and kimchi are provided for free and the rooms have heating and air conditioning. Guest houses are also available, with private rooms and breakfast provided.
