The British Chamber of Commerce in Korea (BCCK) is hosting their biggest event of the year this December. The Christmas lunch will have all the favorite British Christmas traditions: carols, turkey, Father Christmas, Christmas pudding and, of course, heaps of presents. The lunch event will have performances by the Camarata Music Company, Salvation Army, and Student Chorus. The lunch will also feature a charity auction, with all proceeds going to two local charities. The Jeon Jing Sang Center was established in 1975 and is run by Dr. Marie-Helene Brasseur, a Belgian who also has the distinction of becoming the first foreigner to qualify as a doctor in Korea. The center offers free medical and welfare services to less fortunate members of Korean society. Helping Hands Korea was established in 1990 by Tim Peters, a Christian human rights activist. The organization works to provide famine relief to North Koreans in the northeastern part of the country while assisting refugees from the country living in China.
