Gangneung Danoje Festival 2019 | Gangneung, Gangwon-do
Gangneung Danoje Festival is a traditional festival designated as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2005. This festival perpetuates Joseon Dynasty’s folk culture, with various activities such as performances, mask play, folk games (wrestling, swinging contest), parade and more. If you can’t make it to Gangneung, you can also go to the Dano Festival in Seoul which will take place in Namsangol Hanok Village and the National Folk Museum of Korea.

Seoul Queer Culture Festival | Jung-gu, Seoul
Seoul Queer Culture Festival, formally known as the “Seoul Queer Parade”, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this June. Held at Seoul Plaza in downtown Seoul, the event will include more than 80 booths with special programs, stage performances and, of course, a parade. This event welcomes anyone who supports the LGBT community.

Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) 2019 | Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do
Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival is back this summer for its 23rd edition. This film festival is one of the symbols of Bucheon City. It is known as a Mecca of the film culture and it combines animations, cartoons, games, and films. Every year, BIFAN brings together numerous film enthusiasts who come to see the numerous screenings of independent films.

World Coffee Festival | Jaraseom Island, Gapyeong
The World Coffee Festival 2019 will be held at Jaraseom Island, Gyeonggi-do. During 3 days, visitors will have the opportunity to try various coffees from all over the world, but also enjoy performances featuring famous artists such as BtoB, Hong Jinyoung, Gray, Momoland and many others. There will also be a firework show, singing contest, and a coffee model selection contest. All proceeds will be donated to charity.

All That Skate 2019 | Songpa-gu, Seoul
All That Skate 2019 is coming back for its 11th annual show called ‘Move Me” at Olympic Park KSPO Dome, Songpa-gu, Seoul. All That Skate is a special ice skating show featuring worldwide champion figure skaters but also rising stars in the discipline, such as Yuna Kim, Yelim Kim, Soyoun Park, Nathan Chen, Vanessa James & Morgan Cipres, and many more.

Seoul International Wines & Spirits Expo 2019 | Gangnam-gu, Seoul
The Seoul International Wine & Spirits Expo is an annual exhibition that will be held this year at COEX. Each year, it greets more than 25,000 buyers and wines and spirits’ enthusiasts. Many products will be presented, such as wines, beers, spirits, related accessories (cellar, glasses, etc.), related foods (cheese, olives, chocolate, etc.), and a lot more. There will also be wine tasting classes and seminars.

School of Rock The Musical | Songpa-gu, Seoul
Based on the hit movie, School of Rock The Musical is on tour and will be stopping by Korea this June at the Charlotte Theater in Songpa-gu, Seoul. This musical tells the story of a failed wannabe rock-star who takes a job as a substitute teacher in a prestigious prep school and starts a rock band with his students.

Lavender Festival | Ganseong-eup, Goseong
Hani Lavender Farm in Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do is holding their annual Lavender Festival throughout June. Many activities are offered, such as music performances, lavender distillation demonstrations, a “flying slipper” contest and a lot more. You can also take a class to learn how to make your own DIY lavender pizza, lavender perfume, lavender cream, aroma mist, and lavender sachets.

GSM Summer Yacht Party | Yeondeungpo-gu, Seoul
Global Seoul Mates (GSM) is an international community in Seoul meeting up for language exchange or parties. GSM is throwing the Summer Yacht Party this June at the Seoul Marina in Yeouido. This is a 4 story luxury venue right on the Han River. The party will include cocktails, food for purchase, performances, DJs, musicians, roulette tables, and more. You will also be able to enjoy a ride up and down the Han River on a luxury yacht.
