Fans of comedy legends, don’t miss Jim Gaffigan, the Grammy-nominated comedian and New York Times best-selling author in Seoul. According to The Guardian, “Jim Gaffigan is touring the world, and he has jokes about every destination to show for it.” Are you not curious about what he has to say about Korea? Considered as the most beautiful ballet on earth, Swan Lake will be performed by the Universal Ballet of South Korea at the Universal Arts Center in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Another spring flower festival makes it to our list for this April: Goryeosan Mountain Azalea Festival. Although it’s one hour away from Seoul by car, this festival is worth the travel. Walk through a myriad of purple flowers to reach the peak of the mountain and enjoy spectacular sceneries of the West Sea and the North Korean coastline.
Each year, Everland has offered recurring festivals and from March 16th to April 28th, it will hold another tulip festival! After the thrill of the rides, come enjoy more than 1.2 million tulips and 100 varieties in the Plantopia section. You will be able to stroll the lovely lanes and take beautiful pictures surrounded by the full-bloomed tulips.
Seoul Dessert Fair is organizing its 21st edition from April 19th to 21st, 2019 and this year’s theme will be “Cherry Blossom & Cherry”. Professionals, as well as baking students, will present their creations. Be ready for cherry pastries, cherry blossom-shaped macarons and cakes, and also blueberry desserts, drinks and a lot more! There will also be a “Design Goods Zone”, a “Beauty Zone”, and a “World Food Zone”.
Who doesn’t know Ed Sheeran? Winner of many awards worldwide, especially with his song Shape Of You, Ed Sheeran has been touring the world since March 2017 with his ÷ Tour (“Divide Tour”). He will be performing in Incheon on Sunday, April 21st, 2019 at the Songdo Moonlight Festival Park. If you want to attend, book your ticket quickly as there are not many left.
The singer and judge of The Voice UK and Australia, Jessie J, is coming to Seoul, Korea this April 26th. Jessie J will be performing at the KSPO Dome, also known as the Olympic Gymnastics Arena, located within the Olympic Park near Olympic Park Station (Subway line 9 or 5). Every year, the city of Daegu organizes the Daegu Colorful Dalgubul Lantern Festival. Starting from the beginning of 2019, Changgyeonggung Palace is open until 9 pm, allowing visitors to enjoy the night scenery and buildings’ lightings. Originally, the palace only had scheduled night openings a few times a year and was only available through advanced booking. For those who want to try the nighttime experience, admission ends at 8 pm, so don’t be late!
