Each month, we choose a selection of articles we think you want to read. But the question remains: what do YOU want to see in 10 Magazine? While the editorial staff here is pretty sure we’ve got our fingers on the pulse of our readers, we do sometimes need some reminders about the diversity of interest out there.
So that’s what we’ve chosen as the topic of this month’s Reader’s 10, the monthly poll that we run online: What Is the Article That You Most Want to Read in 10? We always start with our open thread – that’s this post here! – in which you nominate entries to be included in our poll. It’s as simple as adding a comment to the post. This open thread is open for posting through December 7th, and after that we’ll be taking your comments and using them to make our Reader’s 10 poll (December 8th – 15th). You can go there to vote for the final articles. We’re not promising to run them all, but we’ll certainly take a careful look at the top results as we plan our upcoming issues.
And there’s a special twist this month. We are going to give away free 1-year subscriptions (W19,900 value!) to the three people whose article ideas we think are the most awesome. So if you want to have a shot at a free subscription, post your article ideas below (share as many as you’ve got!).
UPDATE 12/23
We appreciate ALL of you for providing some great ideas for future content in the magazine, but we could only choose three to receive a free subscription. The lucky winners are Crystle Kozoroski, Ottawa2, and Kristy, whom we will be contacting via email. Thank you again for all of your feedback and we hope you keep reading the magazine.

How bout some restaurant reviews that aren’t in Itaewon/HBC/Noksapyeong/Gyeongnidan?

I would be interested in reading about more family friendly things to do in Seoul / Korea.
Also, I know you may have done this in the past, but articles that focus on different clubs / organization such as RASKB that stimulate one’s mind.
Volunteer Opportunities
Stories about long-term expats (NPR’s stories for This American Life is an example)

Bongamsa temple is open only once a year: on Buddha’s birthday (which falls on May 28 in 2012). It’s definitely worth a trip and I can provide you with photos because I went there last year. Wouldn’t that be a nice article for the May 2012 edition?

I am also interested to know of places where the photography enthusiasts enjoy to snap some shots. Maybe some unknown back alleys or great graffiti areas that people have had fun shooting.

I had another brain wave…..Walking tours of Seoul and other cities in Korea…paid and free of charge.

I would love to hear about good places to stay when people travel. These could include cheap motels, pensions, or yeogwans, etc. I know that there are some really great places out there but get tired of looking through blogs for directions, names and prices. It is nice to find places that you can go to get away from the hussle and bussle of city life.

I love trying Korean restaurants that specialize in one particular type of Korean food. A feature on the best would be most appreciated. Don’t forget restaurants outside of
Seoul (like Daejeon).Always looking for things to see and do across the peninsula.

I always really appreciate articles about lesser known tourist attractions in Korea. For example, I really enjoyed just recently finding out about Seoul’s Chinatown here on the 10mag website. Easy day cultural day trips from Seoul are always awesome to read.
Also, how about more restaurant recommendations taht are away from Itaewon or of places that provide a more traditional Korean experience?
It might also be neat to profile English teachers about why they came here and what their experience has been. Everyone has a different story and some are very intriguing!-

I agree with Kristy, I too like knowing about the lesser known tourist attractions in Korea.

A review of Korean movies on DVD, not necessarily only new releases. For example, expatriates tend to recommend “Old Boy” but Koreans don’t think it’s anything amazing. Then, I was recommended to watch “Chaser” as supposedly the best Korean movie, and it was perturbing. So perhaps a look at decent Korean films would be helpful.

I like restaurant and venue reviews. I enjoy the social aspect of Seoul and there are so many options; it’s hard narrowing down to one!
